As part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement, members of the AOS Orwell Employee Community Service visited the Compassionate Centre for Physically Challenged Children in Nkpogu on Friday, November 22, 2024.
During the visit, Sister Maurice Anoje, the center's lead administrator, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the AOS Orwell team for their dedication, care, and affection shown towards the children residing at the center. Sister Anoje emphasized the importance of family connections for every child in their care and the crucial role community support plays in the upkeep of the center.
She further provided an overview of the center's operations, noting that it currently serves 27 children with physical challenges from various parts of the country. The center is supported by a dedicated team of 15 active staff members, including caregivers and security personnel, who work together to maintain a safe, nurturing environment for the children.
In support of the Compassionate Centre’s mission, AOS Orwell’s Employee Community Service team generously donated a variety of essential food items to assist with the center's needs. The donated items included bags of rice, beans, and garri, as well as cartons of Milo, noodles, chicken, fish, tin tomatoes, and gallons of groundnut and palm oil.
