Lagos, Nigeria — 1st December 2025: AOS Orwell, Nigeria’s leading indigenous oilfield service provider, has invested over $14 million in new well construction tools to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. This announcement was made by Anthony Nwosu, Country Director, Well Construction Division (WCD), during the recently concluded AOS Orwell WCD’s Roadshow 2025.
“We are a service delivery company, and we need to be service provider of choice in our industry,” Mr. Nwosu said. “In the last nine months, we have invested over $14 million in capex to bring in new tools and equipment, all geared towards delivering best-in-class services to our customers.”
The investments include advanced rotary tools for DDFEMWD services from Baker Hughes, expanded inventory of whipstocks, drilling jars, wellbore cleanup systems, Wireline PCE, compressor, Casing Integrity and Corrosion Logging Tools, Drop Gyro Tools, and new improved Milling Shoes for the Division’s Fishing business.
Mr. Nwosu used the opportunity to remind guests that AOS Orwell operate the largest Fishing tool inventories in Sub-Saharan Africa and currently the only indigenous company capable of independently delivering Whipstock services in-country.
Beyond equipment, the company is also investing in people through its Graduate Trainee Programme, which continues to onboard, train, retain and deploy young Nigerians into technical and operational roles. “It’s not just about tools — investing in people is equally critical. Our first generation of trainees are already in the field; generation two trainees are currently in training, and generation three onboarding program has now commenced. We are committed to building a strong pipeline of skilled Nigerian professionals for the future of our industry,” he said.
With these strategic investments in technology and human capital, AOS Orwell’s Well Construction Division reinforces its position as a reliable partner of choice to operators across Nigeria’s energy sector. “Our focus remains clear — to deliver innovative, efficient, and world-class services that ensure safe and successful well construction operations,” Mr. Nwosu concluded.
The AOS Orwell WCD Roadshow 2025 was the maiden edition of the event, organized to showcase the division’s services and innovations to clients and industry stakeholders. The roadshow took place in Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Benin City.
